Capt. Ron J. Arellano

Capt. Arellano received a commission as an Ensign at the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001, where he also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He obtained an Executive master’s in business administration from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2009.
Operational tours include duty on board the USS West Virginia (SSBN 736) (GOLD) during five strategic deterrent patrols. He then re-designated as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer; at Naval Special Warfare Group ONE, which included deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He also served at the Joint Communications Integration Element that included a deployment in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Freedom’s Sentinel. At U.S. 3
rd Fleet, he served at the Joint Cyber Operations Group as a Squadron Commanding Officer. Capt. Arellano was also assigned at U.S. Central Command with the National Security Agency.
Support tours include duty at the Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group and at the Navy Information Warfare Training Group – San Diego as the Executive Officer.
Capt. Arellano re-designated as a Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer in 2023. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (with oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with gold star), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with gold star), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with gold star).
